On Tuesday, December 31, Ukraine’s Military Intelligence (GUR) stated that a naval drone effectively destroyed a Russian helicopter in the Black Sea.
Equipment that could return to its base suffered damage during the assault.
The operation was conducted on the western coast of Crimea, near Cape Tarkhankut. According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Representative, a Magura V5 maritime drone, equipped with R-73 SeeDragon missiles, targeted a Russian Mi-8 helicopter.
It appears a Ukrainian naval drone successfully struck an airborne target for the first time, according to information provided by Ukrainian intelligence services, although this claim has not yet been independently confirmed.
Up until this point, Moscow has provided no formal statement.
