Kenya Airways has given a Boeing 737 to Mang’u High School to commemorate its 100th-anniversary celebrations and inspire the upcoming generation of pilots, engineers, and makers.

The former aircraft, which was previously used in operational capacities, will be repurposed as a practical training facility for students at Mang’u, thereby enriching their education in aviation with hands-on experience.

The Boeing 737 was transported from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to the school via the Eastern Bypass and Thika Road.
Kenya Airways has presented a Boeing 737 to Mang’u High School, marking a major milestone in the school’s centennial commemorations.
Notable figures in attendance at the plane donation event included Archbishop Rev. Philip Anyolo, Mang’u High School Principal John Kuria, Nation Media Group Chair Wilfred Kiboro, and Kenya Airways Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer Hellen Mathuka.
The student body at Mang’u Secondary School eagerly watched as the aircraft was unveiled, showcasing the school’s commitment to academic and aviation excellence.
“The aircraft, which once flew freely in the skies, is now commencing a new phase as an educational resource to inspire and prepare future pilots, engineers, and inventors,” said Hellen Mathuka in her speech.

The Boeing 737, transported from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) via the Eastern Bypass at Thika Road, will serve as a practical training facility for aviation students.
Motorists were requested to take extra care during the morning transportation of the oversized load.
Established in 1925, Mang’u High School boasts a prestigious history of nurturing academic and professional achievement.
Kenya Airways, established in 1977 as a successor to East African Airways, continues to be committed to national development and advancement. Mang’u High School, commemorating 100 years of transformative education, is now benefiting from Kenya Airways’ #WingsOfInnovation initiative.
