Mauritius is “overestimating its hand” with its increasing financial demands to secure the Chagos Islands, a former high-ranking official has cautioned.

The United Kingdom and Mauritius have jointly stated an intention to swiftly conclude negotiations regarding the return of the Chagos Islands.
