President Volodymyr Zelensky would only accept a ceasefire in the war against Russia when Ukraine receives sufficient arms from its allies and has security guarantees.
He stated in an interview with American podcast host Lex Fridman.
Volodymyr Zelensky also stated that the first settlement talks to end the conflict should occur between him and the newly-elected US President Donald Trump. Only then will the parties be able to initiate negotiations with Russia.
The Ukrainian president emphasized that negotiations with Russia are only feasible if guarantees of security from the United States are provided to Ukraine.
